Father's Day

I love Father's Day!! Well, really I love any holiday. We always try to make Tay feel really special and loved on Father's Day. This year we started the day by making Tay breakfast in bed. I let the kids pick out what to put on his tray. They decided on french toast with homemade syrup, a bowl of Trix cereal, a glass of milk, some cheese and crackers, and lastly a package of veggie tales fruit snacks. Tay accepted his breakfast after he slept in for awhile (the greatest gift any parent could get.)

I got Tay some new jeans and shirts for Father's Day and I helped the kids make these really cute paintings. I saw the idea on Jon and Kate Plus 8 where you let your kids paint a canvas color by color, layer by layer. You cover up after each color certain areas of the canvas and the n peel them off when you are done. It makes what would normally by a big brown mess a picture you would actually want to hang on the wall. Look how cute these turned out! I think we're gonna hang them in the new playroom.
Finally Tay's mom made a huge delicious Father's Day feast. Judy always makes the yummiest food and we are happy to have her with us on holidays now. That sounded bad --- we're glad she's here for more that just the fact that she makes delicious food. It seems so complete now having Mom and Ron here with us.

I love my Taylor so much and am so thankful my children have the best Dad I could ever imagine. He truly lives to make the kids and I have a good life and makes us all feel so loved. He is truly a special person. I am also so blessed to have Ron in my life. He is the best father in law ever. He is truly an example to everyone around him. Finally I would like to thank my own father. He is the most selfless man I have ever met. He works so hard and is so steadfast. He also climbs around with my kids and spends special time with them playing records, trians, and blues clues. My kids adore my dad and so do I. I am truly blessed to have these wonderful men in my life. Happy Father's Day!

The grossness of boys

I have often wondered how all little boys from a very early age think it is hysterical to fart or burp. My kids are definately no exception to this rule. I must admit I sometimes burp when consuming diet coke but I defiantely don't go around cutting the cheese and laughing at myself (an neither does Taylor). I don't get why both of my boys think it is so funny to excreet gas in any form. It is gross but totally cracks them up. When all the boy cousins get together it is the worst! They like to one up each other and congratulate each other on a job well done. I learned this weekend that Jaidyn and Dagen are also especially talented in the burping department. Here are some fun antics of the little kids in my life talking about some gross and mildy inappropriate things:

Isaac: Guess what Aunt Becky
Me: What
Isaac: Don't tell my mom but when she isn't home my dad brups all the time.
Jaidyn: Yeah he does and it's not fair because he won't let us burp. If we burp we have to put our head down on the table.

Weston : OH MY!! (he was in the bathroom)
Me: What's wrong Weston
Weston: Mommy come here!!!!!
Me: (arriving in the bathroom) whats wrong?!?!?!?!
Weston: My poop is blue and looks like a snake!!!
Me: Gross Wes

Weston: Mommy my tooti is getting longer.
Me: WHAT???
Weston: It keeps growing bigger and bigger and longer and longer. It's bigger than Jamers.

(As I was eavesdropping on the boys during naptime.)
Weston: Jamers you need to go to the bathroom on the potty. I don't like to smell your stinky booty. Go potty Jamers and then Mommy will buy you a toy!

Way behind on blogging

I usually hate when people do this - but I finally sat down tonight to catch up on my blog. So make sure you scroll down and all the new posts. I think there is 6. I will not let my blog get that far behind again!
Every once in awhile Taylor and Mike invite Mel and I and all the kids to a Titan Alarm dinner. This tine we went out to On the Border- one of our favorite restuarants. The kids can seriously find fun wherever we are and this was no exception. During our wait for a table Weston found some Mexican apparel and moraccas and starting dancing to the music. The restuarant brought the kids tortilla dough to play with and we just we acting silly the whole time. Thanks for a fun night guys!

We trade kids alot with Mike and Mel so we can have free sitters for date night. Tonight their kids came over and we had a sleepover. Call me crazy but I love having tons of my neices and nephews over. I don't mind the loud chaos and I always try to have a few activities planned for the kids. Dagen is just barely starting like coming over here and it is so fun to play with this funny little girl. She reminds me alot of Jamers and has such a "big girl" personality. She thinks that she is ready for potty training and will tell you when she has "pee poo." She came toddling out of the hallway saying she had pee poo but when I looked for a diaper it was gone! She was naked from the waist down and holding a piece of toilet paper and trying t wipe herself. When we looked in the bathroom and found alot of toilet paper and Dagen's diaper laying on the floor. We luckily didn't find any pee poo and got her diapered up again.

Mel's kids are the most accident prone kids I have ever met. Rare is the day that one of them isn't bleeding or bruised when they are playing with the cousins. Tonight Kallie burned her hand on a hot pizza pan and Isaac (while trying to imitate his dad crushing a soda can on his head) cut his hand. Jaidyn felt left out and wanted to get bandaged as well. Dagen remained unscathed the whole night.

We decided to make homemade pizza and let the kids eat creat their own. Although we all agreed Digorno tastes better it was alot of fun to do. The kids loved picking all their own toppings and eating about 5 lbs of cheese each while they were making their masterpieces. After dinner we did some cute crafts for father's day and had a dance party. Finally we did movie night and watched Tinkerbell and ate popcorn and M & M's. It was a way fun night and I love being able to spend quality time with these cuties and also getting a free sitter in the meantime!

I am so surprised how many fun things there are to do it Phoenix during the summer. A shopping center near us does a free activity every Wednesday. My friend Jess told me about it and we decided to take the kids to an activity where the kids got to make and decorate cookies at Paradise Bakery. First they brought our raw dough and let the kids mold it into cookies and put sprinkles on it. Then they took the cookies back to bake them. James at most of the raw dough and didn't have anything that was enough like a cookie to be baked. Next they brought out baked cookies and let the kids decorate them with hot pink icing. Although the kids had the sugar rush of their life and I now have serious hot pink stains on my shirt it was well worth it and alot of fun. Here are some pics of the kids wonderful creations.

Our little Lucy is 5 months old!! I can hardly believe how the time has flown by! She is such a joy of a baby and has really completed our family. The boys are amazing with her and adore her. She is talking and laughing all the time and recently has mastered the art of traveling by rolling. One day I left her on her blanket for a minute and when I came back into the room the little dear had rolled over to the ottoman. In fact she got her head stuck underneath it! She was still happy as could be and I couldn't resist taking a picture. Below are some recent shots of my precious baby girl.

My sister in law Michelle has been gracious enough to host the whole family over every friday during the summer for lunch and swimming. The kids love it and spend the whole time running around like maniacs. This particular friday, after the kids had eaten, they all ran to go swimming and found a frog in the pool. A pretty darn big frog. Of course they immediately fished the frog out of the pool and I ran to grab my camera (thinking about what a great blog this would be). I egged the kids on and told my cute little niece Layken to put the frog on her head so I could take a picture. All the kids took turns holding the frog and playing with him. A few minutes later Michelle came out of the house and told the kids to drop the frog and all go inside to wash their hands. I asked her what was up and she told me that these frogs had been found in their neighborhood, were highly venomous, and in fact had killed her neighbors dog by spitting their venom. Yikes! Luckily no one died and then we all enjoyed a nice fudgesicle.

Lucy's First Pedicure

As previously mentioned in prior posts all the sister in laws ( and Judy now that she is home) have a tradition of getting pedicures and going out for lunch whenever any of us have a birthday. This time it was Michelle's birthday. As usual we went out for our pedicures and girl time. Lucy came with us because Grandpa Ron was watching all the kids by himself and I thought Lucy would be too much. So she tagged along with us to the salon and while I was getting my pedicure it dawned on me that Lucy deserved a pedicure too. I know you are probably thinking I am crazy (and I am) but I thought maybe it would look cute to have Lucy get her toes painted so she could match mine. The lady was really sweet and didn't charge me and all she really did was shape and paint her nails. No massage for poor Lucy. Lucy seemed to be indifferent to the whole experience but her toes sure looked adorable! I love having a girl!!

Oh my laundry

Everytime we take a road trip it seems like it takes me six years to get caught up on laundry after unpacking and sorting everything. I had been doing laundry all week and procrastinating folding it all and I had a HUGE pile of laundry on the sofa in our room. One night I decided to cordially invite Taylor to attend a "Laundry Party" in our room. I put all the laundry on our bed so that we would be unable to sleep until it was all folded. Tay and I have it down to a system during laundry parties- I do all the kids clothes and he does all the undergarments. The rest we share. Although I do not recommend letting your clean laundry pile build up this way it is really fun (seriously) to spend time chatting and folding with your hubby. Thannks for being a good sport babe!

Trip to Utah

Recently we took a trip to Utah to attend the funeral of Tay's Grandma Helen. She pasted away a few months ago and it was decided that we would have a memorial type funeral on her birthday. It was so great to see all the family and we also got to see some of our friends as well. Our good friends Tammy and Casey were in town and we got to stay with them and meet their darling little Kylynn. Her and Lucy are only a few weeks apart although it looks like Lucy could eat her for breakfast. Tammy made these adorable hair bows for the girl so they could be twinners. It was so great to spend time with them.

Next we were able to visit Tay's sister Kristin and her family. We spent a great day swimming and visiting. We miss them so much and don't get to see them as often as we would like to. My kids adore their cousins so much!
Weston sitting on Dayne's dirt bike and dreaming of the day when he can have his own.

The remarkable Uncle Theron (who is a chiropractor) adjusting Lucy. If you have never had your newborn adjusted trust me -- DO IT!!! It will help them to sleep better and help alleviate gas bubbles. Dr. Theron Hall is the best in Utah and you should look him up immediately. He is seriously the best.

Lucy and Aunt Kristin- isn't she a bombshell?
We also were able to visit our good friends the Bennett's. Even though we missed out on seeing Ty we had a great time meeting little tanner. We also thought it would be a good time to introduce Tanner to his future wife -Lucy. We could tell that they are already in love.
We went to visit Nana and Papa Smith the next day. The boys were so happy to see them and Papa took Wes out on the four wheeler. It is always great to see them.

Weston being taken away in Uncle Brian's police car. Notice how much he loved it- I hope this is the only time that he is in handcuff in the back of a police cruiser.

After Grandma's graveside service we went back to Matt and Holly's house for some yummy food and great enertainment. KFC was Grandma's favorite and we got to listen to Grandpa Doug sing with his band Nick, Dick and Doug. They are like the Kingston Trio and it is so fun for the kids to get to see their Grandpa sing. This is a picture of all the grandkids on the Proudfit side (minus Lydia who was napping). Notice how happy they all look about taking this picture.
Utah holds for me the best hairstylist ever. I have had nasty hair for three months waiting to go to Utah to get my hair done. Their is noone in AZ that even comes close to Janae Ellington when it comes to hair. She wouldn't let me take a pic of her because we did my hair at 7:00am but despitethe early hour she did the best job ever. She has a salon in her home so the boys were playing while I was getting my new do. Jamers was watching Nemo in the other room and came into the salon and exclaimed "I caught a fish!" I stared at his hand in disbelief and saw a goldfish in his little hand! He had gone into Mason's room stuck his hand in the fish tank and caught one if the goldfish. How does a 2 year old catch a goldfish with his hands!! Luckily the goldfish survived the traumatic ordeal.

Lucy also got her first haircut done by Aunt Janae and loved every minute of it.

My beautiful new doMy very sad "before" picture

The boys at a pit stop during the road trip. We always eat Subway on road trips -- they like it better than anything else. I'm so glad they don't beg us to stop at burger joints. Notice their adorable Titan Alarm shirts. Tay had the same one on as well.

After a wonderful trip we were on our way home and exhausted!!! It was a great roadtrip home and the kids did great. I got to stop at one of the many Native American craft booths that are all over the freeway in the AZ desert. I have always wanted to stop at one and finally got to do it.

I have no idea how Wes feel asleep in that postition.
