Weston’s school offers martial arts after school a couple of days and week and he was anxious to get enrolled. He got his cute uniform and shirt and then we hadn’t heard much about it except that he was promoted to white belt with 3 yellow stripes a few months ago. I admit I have never been to one of his practices because I have never really wanted to take Lucy and James and sit in a gym for an hour trying to wrangle them. I assumed they were doing all the normal martial arts things one would deem appropriate to teach a 5 year old. I was wrong. Wes come home a few weeks ago with this awesome sparring gear. SPARRING GEAR!!!!!! I think this means that he is sparring other kids! I found this alarming but Wes assured me by say “don’t worry Mom it’s just fighting with friends.” I think I am going to have to make sure I check out one of these practices but he sure is cute in his fighting gear.

Park Day
We have an awesome park that is a few blocks from our house with swings, sand, rocks to climb on, 2 jungle gyms, bathrooms, and picnic areas. Heather and I decided to take the little ones to a picnic lunch one beautiful spring day. I love the pictures of the kids in their own element because they really capture their little personalities. Lucy has become a little daredevil and now goes down the slide by herself. We are so proud. James has the best imagination and could play for hours imagining all kinds of adventures at the park.
Disclaimer: Lucy’s shirt was that dirty only after the end of lunch.
Obama and Tithing
This morning we were reading the scripture in Malachi about tithing. Weston pondered this and thoughtfully replied “that is just like how we have to give some of our money to Obama.” That’s right little one.
